Oh happy day!!

"Oh happy day, oh happy day
When Jesus washed my sins away
Oh, happy day, oh, happy day
When my Jesus washed my sins away..."*

Very fittingly, I woke up this morning with this song on my mind. I say fittingly, because today I received a much-anticipated letter from Patrick Henry College. I'm afraid I rather demolished the envelope in the process of opening it, only to read the word "Congratulations!" and become an emotional wreck. (You may have heard the scream.)

This basically means that, after two years of hoping and praying, going through the rather arduous process of applying, and several weeks of suspense, I have been accepted. Praise the Lord!

So, it's a happy day!

What does this mean for this blog? Perhaps less neglect, because I've been told that PHC emphasizes writing, and I will therefore have more material to post!

I hope to blog soon** with two movie reviews.

*The song is on my playlist at the bottom of this blog if anyone cares to hear it.
** soon \'sün\ adv 1. anywhere from two seconds to several years in the future 2. roughly within the length of the Garfield Administration 3. when I start feeling guilty

yay! Congrats on the acceptance! :)

I won't get the anticipation of waiting on a letter like that until next spring, after I've finished auditioning at music schools.

Were there any other places you applied?

Thank you!

Actually, no, I hadn't applied anywhere else. PHC has been my dream for forever, and I was so set on it that I couldn't stand applying anywhere else. :) I would have, though, if I had been rejected. Bob Jones University was my second choice.

What music schools are you auditioning at?

I understand that dream school feeling for sure. I've had my heart set on the SUNY Fredonia music school since I was 11. I'm auditioning there, and probably Buff State, Edinboro, Mercyhurst, and a big maybe on Eastman in Rochester.

I guess I'm not a big fan of going far from home. lol.

Allyson: I hope you can get into Fredonia. I've heard that they have an amazing music program!

Emily: Haha, thanks for the...encouragement?! :)
